i'd chalk it up to a bad night... he's looked good in other games and practices. I mean, he did get open and the ball wouldn't have been thrown to him the last two times if anyone else could have got the first downs, so he's getting seperation fine.
I thought JT's comment on slowing down and keeping your head level so you don't lose the ball was interesting. Either way, i'd send him to catch 100 balls a day and forget it happened.
