Re: Official Redskins Off-Season News & Rumors-Part Trois

People didn't mention this already, but Chris Russell of ESPN980 was watching practice and said/tweeted:

#Redskins observations from OTA's : Niles Paul blew past rookie safety Phillip Thomas on what looked to be a wheel route for a long gain/TD.

#Redskins observations from OTA's : Glimpse of the (near?) future - Several times, saw Amerson at RCB, Thomas/Rambo at S, R. Crawford @ LCB.

#Redskins observations from OTA's : A few times saw #Redskins use this alignment in nickel. DHall at LCB, Crawford at RCB w/ EJ Biggers-slot

#Redskins observations from OTA's - Rookies David Amerson and Bacarri Rambo each had a INT against Rex Grossman. Rambo was at FS for his.

#Redskins observations from OTA's : After throwing two straight picks, Rex dialed up a long ball to Aldrick Robinson beating Amerson/Gomes.

#Redskins observations from OTA's - RB Jawan Jamison had a nice "2nd level wiggle" on 1 run (@John_Keim) & did nice job in pass pro mirror.
------

So what I gather from that (of course its way to early to start coming to conclusions)

- Amerson is looking just like he did in college: great coverage one play, beat the next.

- Phillip Thomas is getting burned by Niles Paul. Not helping his case with me saying he doesn't have the speed to play in the NFL.

- Rambo looking like a good/great pick (as a lot of us had thought and hoped)

- Skins are using Biggers at the Slot, although I read (I think in PFF) that he is a lot better outside than in the slot. Interesting.

- Jawan Jamison getting attention already. I can think back to this time last year and Chris Russell was saying noticeable things about a guy named Alfred Morris.. I could easily see him & Thompson both on the roster and Royster and Helu gone.
