Re: Redskins vs. Bears pre-game/predictions

I'm gonna say. . . Redskins 17, Bears 9. This prediction is gonna be a little odd since I'm gonna take a guess at what happens each quarter:

1st Quarter (Chicago 3, Washington 0): Chicago will get off an early drive running the football and throwing screens and short passes. Thomas Jones will account for most of the yards both rushing and receiving, and the screens will capitalize on early blitzes from the Redskins, but da Bears will only manage a field goal. Washington's offense will struggle initially, but find some rhythm in the running game as they mount a time-consuming drive in the closing minutes.

2nd (Washington 7, Chicago 6): Washington's long drive, consisting mostly of runs, will lead to a touchdown at the early/midway point of this quarter. Chicago's offense will falter, but a Redskin turnover will give them good field position and lead to another field goal.

3rd (Washington 10, Chicago 6): Mostly a defensive quarter although Washington's ability to pound the ball and protect the qb will allow us to get another drive (perhaps a punt return from Brown will help). Ramsey will settle down into a short passing attack to complement the running game, allowing us to get another field goal.

4th (Washington 17, Chicago 9): A big special teams play from Jerry Azumah will allow Chicago to get another field goal, but the Bears will fail to make a lot of yards. The final half of the quarter will see Ramsey get in sync with his receivers on a few passes, allowing one final drive with the running and passing game working together to produce a touchdown.

That's my outrageous, stupid prediction (how many people really think all those specifics are gonna happen?). But I had fun doing it anyway. Truth is, I hope we destroy 'em 41-0. :smashfrea
