Only one part of Monday night has a lingering bug in my ear.
It's not the turnovers, I am sure we will see more this year than last, we got several lucky bounces. But, that game ought to have put everyone's mind back in place.
It's not the defense. We know that secondary is not our best place, but at least to me, it did seem improved, but not perfect.
It IS the penalties. We had them last year, we had them in the preseason, and this from Keim, emphasizes what a turning point they can be:
Quote:
John Keim @john_keim 7m
FWIW: Shanahan kept saying they would've had a TD on 4 &10 if not for false start. Had a shot: right route vs. coverage. Moss open on out
John Keim @john_keim 7m
If he doesn't score on that play, it's a first down inside the 20. instead: fourth and 15. fail. penalties hurt them.

We lost early games last year on penalties in the last few minutes which derailed comeback opportunities. (Rams game for sure, but think there was at least 1 maybe more)
IF we get the penalties corrected (which I am not confident we will), then my prediction would be that we win Sunday at GB.
