Oh and I'm so glad we got Kerrigan over Gabbert. I remember come draft time we were rumored to be high on Blaine Gabbert. Thank god we didn't take him. Or ponder.

But we did pass on JJ Watt which also stings.
I thought JJ Watt went third overall to the Texans? I might be mistaken on that one though. Edit: I have a terrible memory apparently, JJ Watt went to the Texans with the 11th overall pick, which was 1 pick after our original draft slot.

Also I think a whole nation of Skins fans are glad we went with Kerrigan over Gabbert. And if this article I'm quoting is correct, we not only got Kerrigan out of the deal, we also got Hankerson, Helu, and Aldrick Robinson in it too. So it's definitely safe to say we got lucky in this deal.

The Redskins used the 16th pick on OLB Ryan Kerrigan and in a series of trades turned that mid-2nd round pick into WR Leonard Hankerson, RB Roy Helu, WR Aldrick Robinson, G Maurice Hurt* (note: The Redskins used one of their own picks in the deal to move up and get Helu, but the other two picks came from the trading back process, the easiest way to look at it is the Redskins began the draft with a 1st, 2nd, two 5th's, a 6th and three 7th's, they ended draft weekend with a 1st, a 2nd, a 3rd, a 4th, two 5th's, tw0 6th's and 4 7th's). Let's check into to see how the players involved are doing.
