I tend to favor drier Reds. A good bordeaux goes a long way. Check out Chianti. My wife didn't care for red wine until she had her first sip of Chianti. Most cheaper end chiantis run $8-12. Just make sure the chianti is made in Tuscany.
Went to my favorite beer store over the weekend and made a mixed 6er, mostly stouts. Here are the 3 I had yesterday:
Fuel Café | Lakefront Brewery - Great dark coffee flavor. I enjoyed it and could see buying 6ers of it. Although I'm still waiting for
Kujo Imperial Coffee Stout | Flying Dog Brewery to come out, but Fuel Cafe is a great alternative.
Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout : Brooklyn Brewery - Good chocolate flavor, it was ok. I'm a big fan of Young's and compared to this, I'd rather have Young's.
LTD Limited Lager Series - Looked like a stout, went down like a lager. Could be a nice stepping stone for those people who think Guinness is too dark or "thick". I really enjoyed it.
