At this point the only, ONLY redeeming value in keeping Shanahan is that RG3 isn't going to have to learn a new offense in addition to the time he needs in developing as a QB. Averaging nearly 400 yards per game and nearly 24 PPG, I don't want to take steps back from that. However, what we've got isn't winning games.

I think it's pretty clear that we're heading for 6-10, 5-11 and maybe even 4-12 and with those results, it will be impossible for Shanahan to return absent significant changes on the coaching staff. This is reminiscent of George Seifert with the Panthers. SB pedigree but lottery results.
