He did have major knee surgery last year, and I'm not sure why that's relevant here. It was probably a factor in the Week 1 start/sit decision. But he's almost a full year out. We're now in the "point" period of the 99.**% healthy/recovered. You can round up to 100%.
He's taken a billion hits this season so I'm sure Griffin isn't healthy at this point between all the ailments one gets from playing through a football season. Resting him will heal those ailments, sure, but it doesn't really matter if he rests now or in three weeks. When he returns for March in OTA's he's going to be 100%. If he gets an injury in the next three weeks, that's really unfortunate, but the season isn't over yet and they can't just play it like he is.
Cousins could tear something too if he's playing, and then you lose whatever trade value you had on him.
