Not trying to be a dick but what is the appeal of Jay Gruden?

I don't know much about him and Cincinnati isn't doing anything offensively that says genius.
They are 10th on offense with a lot of talent and we are 9th.
He's never had a top 10 offense.
Is he just the next Gruden?
