And who is acting like pot is not a vice? Alcohol and tobacco are both legal vices, that are both have considerably worse known side effects, yet are both accepted by society and legal. Well said. Also, I think alot of people who have substance abuse issues are genetically predispose to addiction issues to begin with or are suffering from mental illness(depression, anxiety, stress disorders, personality disorder, etc). With these cases, the approach that works best is health issue approach. The criminal approach is the wrong way.

We as a country need to step back redefine alot of issues, mental health and substance abuse issues are top of the list imo. The typical "man up" or lock the person up and throw away the key approaches to these issues dont work. I think a light is starting to go off about mental health as we see these mass shootings across the nation and heinous crimes.
