ok let's combine the extra point with the kickoff. A TD is worth 6, the team can choose to run a play for 1 point, and then if on the kickoff the kicker makes it through the uprights (or converts a successful onside kick), the scoring team gets one more point.

So you could earn 8 points by: a TD, a successful play from the 2yd line, and either a kickoff through the goal post or a successful onside kick.

7 points from a TD, and one of the following a successful onside kick, a kickoff through the goal post, or a successful play from the 2yd line followed by a kickoff that does not go through the goal post.

and finally
6 points by a TD, followed by either no try or unsuccessful try from the 2 yrd line and a normal kickoff (unsuccessful onside/not thru goal post)
