my uneducated gut instinct is that RG3 is always used to scrambling on a busted play and likes to scramble to the outside where there is more open field, their field is vision is open and they can quickly judge if they can turn the corner or not and they can use the sideline for protection.
i dont think it is natural for a speedy scrambler to step into the mouth of danger/bodies vs getting outside it.
you use speed on the edges.
rg3 is speed.
he isnt big ben. he isnt comfortable stepping into and trusting a pocket. .... yet.
