I agree with this post. If anyone thinks Gruden will stick with RGIII just because what we sacrificed to get him, I don't think you have the measure of the man. RGIII will have to produce -- I don't mean light it up, but he will need to demonstrate that he can (a) stay healthy, and (b) develop as a passer (running will not suffice). If by season's end, he's averaging 200 yards passing per game, 1 TD, and 1 INT (or something pedestrian like that), I would fully expect the coaching staff to look at the QB position anew come 2015 and open it up to some competition.
If, on the other hand, RGIII can put up more respectable numbers, I do think he enters 2015 as the annointed starter, and I surely hope he does given the holes we need to fill elsewhere.
As for McCoy, you all are a tough crowd. The guy hadn't played in 3 years, and in his first start back he throws for just under 300 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT -- AND has gutsy game tying and winning drives. (Oh, and that was after bailing us out against the Titans the week before.) I don't disagree his arm strength does not rival that of many starters, but I would bet that there are a few teams that would see that performance and think that he's at least someone that could compete with their incumbentduring training camp.
