But how much of those numbers were in garbage time?
When the defense is ahead by 14 points they tend to play you much differently, which certainly happened to us a lot last year. Griffin got completely squelched in his games, and then the defenses backed off into a no-big-play approach. Same with Cousins and McCoy but they kept us competitive for longer.
We need the running game and defense to keep us in the game, so that defenses can be kept honest enough, and hopefully Kirk can do enough to take advantage.
