I guess you don't watch ESPN or read the local papers much, because several sports reporter and analysts(i.e. Kornheiser, Wilbon, Salisbury, Howie Long, Mike Ditka, etc.) have said that there is more to LaVar not playing than simply "not performing in practice". Most have also stated that it is a slap in the face to LaVar to make him suit up in full pads, just to sit on the bench like he's being punished.
