Re: Brown Frown Pregame Thread
Again, another game where early scoring can dictate how the game goes. The Browns are a good running team, but their passing game is in disarray at the moment.
If Kirk and the Offense don't score early and/or waste turnover/good field position opportunity, then the Browns can keep using their running game and their defense to either keep the game within reach or take/keep the lead.
Now if the offense is able to get an early sizeable lead, then the Browns will need to abandon the run and depend on their passing game.
Again, I don't understand why people are so dependent on our weakest unit or has expectation of having a shutdown defense. Our best unit in terms of talent is the offense. When the offense doesn't score in obvious opportunities or after takeaways, the defense can't hold it until the offense gets its shit together when it doesn't matter.
We have an offense that has no trouble moving the ball and getting to red zone. Now we need them to score during those red zone trips and be able to take advantage of the many turnover opportunities created by the defense. If this had happened in the first two games, we could be looking at a decent game against the Steelers and a win vs. the Cowpukes.
I think we got there last week and I hope the offense continues to play to their potential this week.
