Simply put, some of us have more faith in Kirk than you do. That's all there is to it, actually.
Regardless of fans like me who believe in Kirk, you're going to get what you want because the Redskins brass are going to evaluate him based on his play this entire season (and other factors) before attempting to sign him to a long-term contract. That's what the Franchise tag was all about.
The decision that the Redskins make about Kirk will only be about whether or not they should go forward with Kirk as their starting QB. By that I mean, the only question is
"Once the team has been built around KC, can the Redskins win a Super Bowl with him as their starting QB?". It's not about the money because SM has made it clear that the Skins will be willing to pay fair market value to get the QB they want. Also, Kirk doesn't need to be a future All-Pro or Top 10 QB for the answer to the Big Question to be "Yes".
At his point, what you seem to be attempting to do is to convince people like me who have more faith in Kirk than you do to have less faith in him until we see his full season body of work. You should try to understand that it's not as if those of us who already believe in Kirk don't realize that he might fail - we do. Still, in my case, I don't choose to temper my enthusiasm about Kirk's future. It's more fun for me that way.
