I'm secretly hoping Cousins has a Panthers/Norman type situation and SM let's him go. Why? Because he is going to get way more than he's worth from us or some other team. I rather have it be another team. And no, I don't have the answer for who starts, but I don't want to over pay out of fear. We can find someone.

What is the goal here, anyway? I thought it was to build a team that can win a Super Bowl. No team can win a Super Bowl these days with a run-of-the-mill QB. In fact, it has rarely been done before now.
Where are you going to get this cheap QB who can lead us to the Super Bowl?
- There are 22 NFL QB's who are being paid an average of $17M or more per season under their current contracts.
- There are 15 NFL QB's who are guaranteed $65M or more under their current contracts.
- The Franchise Tag for QB's in 2017 will be $24M. That's the baseline for Kirk Cousins, one year at $24M fully guaranteed. As of today, there are 19 NFL QB's who are each contractually guaranteed more than $24M.
In the NFL, you need a good QB to win. We have a good QB. Good QB's are hard to find and they are paid extremely well, as shown above; therefore, in order to win we must pay our good QB extremely well. It's so simple that some of us think there must be more to it than that. There isn't.
The alternative? Hope for a lightning strike on FedEx Field with a good and cheap QB emerging from the smoking turf.
