I can see why Gruden made Pettine one of his first interviews. Pettine clearly has a philosophy of being aggressive, yet minimizing the information that he throws at his players. Gruden of course saw what we saw this year, that the biggest problem was communication lapses.

It looked to me like Compton was spending an awful lot of time giving hand signals to the secondary and then turning to the other LBs and they just seemed to be staring at each other for far too long before each snap, and not spending enough time looking at the offense's formation.

I think the information wasn't being digested efficiently and so you had guys out of position.

I see the appeal of Pettine. Teaching in a way that lets guys know their job and just attack.

We still need talent but hiring him would make me happy.
