Re: Not so crazy trade ideas
"Not-so-crazy trades" is a pretty low bar - if wild pie-in-the-sky speculation is the standard, sure anything could happen. However, to me, trading these players for anything close to what you are suggesting is not even a reasonably remote possibility.
- Even if he shows well in preseason, I would be shocked if we could get more than a ham sandwich for Jones. Back-up RB's are a dime-a-dozen ... and that's for the ones without fumbling issues and attitude problems. If someone offered us a 7th for him, he would be on a bus before the other side could hang-up the phone.
- Nseke is more valuable to us than anything anyone would offer. No way would I take less than a 3rd or 4th for him (and even then, I would have to think long and hard about a 4th rounder), and no one is going to give us that for an over 30 back-up tackle. On the other hand, if we have to replace him as the 3rd tackle, I seriously doubt we could get anyone of his quality without having to draft Trent's eventual replacement.
- Colt is loved by the coaching staff and, hell, he may be next year's starter so he's not going anywhere.
