I like his ballsy approach, and going for it on 4th down... but you also gotta factor in the situation.
You have a bad back up QB, your defense has been stopping the Hawks offense, while your offense have had a hard time sustaining drive, so I'll take the cheap shot FG to make it a 5 points game with close to 6min left versus a 4th and 4. I hate playing the what if game, but had he done that, the next possession would have given them a shot at making it a 2 points game with 2 minutes to go...
And,
in that situation, I think the odds of making a stop, getting good starting position, moving the ball 30 yards down field, and making the game winning FG are way higher than making a 4th and 4, scoring a TD, making the 2 points conversion and then preventing Russel Wilson from having a late 4th quarter come back drive.
