Supposedly the biggest problem with Sharpe was that he didn't have good relationships with current players and coaches so ESPN was limited in the interviews they could do. Irvin is ona much more cordial basis with current players so they could use that to their advantage. Sharpe didn't offer that. Sharpe is a great analyst though.

What I'm wondering is what Tom Jackson do during the off-season. I'm surprised to never hear from him. I would think especially during the draft he'd be a good analyst to have around.
