Right and the Ravins were happy to GIVE Haskins the little dink and dunk stuff, because they are excellent tacklers. Haskins has nothing in the over 15-20 yard pass range to scare anyone. Teams know how to beat Haskins. Keep him passing short. This was what was happening to Alex Smith as teams caught onto his act before he was hurt.
One thing to remember is that Rivera is seeing how good he can get Haskins by let’s say, mid season. Rivera ALREADY KNOWS how good Allen is. Except for McLaurin / Gibson we have little real talent at EITHER TE or WR #2 or 3. So, it not like Allen is going to blow anyone away with what we have to throw to. Haskin’s is going through his progressions and except for Terry, his other WR/TE usually aren’t open!

Ultimately, they hope to get Haskins confident enough to throw longer. But the sad truth is there’s not a lot of open there. Quick slants and screens are all that are open now. Soon, they will have to start throwing it long to either get a pass interference call or maybe a catch. Turner didn’t do it today because they’re trying to get Dwayne’s confidence back.
