Well, I think that is by design. They have gravitated more towards a "West Coast" style of offense given the lack of overall talent on that side of the ball. That's why you see more of a horizontal type of passing game - basically an extension of the running game. It can be effective, but not as explosive.
I think the offense Turner would like to run requires a stronger inside running game, a quality pass catching tight end, and at least two fast receivers that can stretch the field. Not to mention a quality QB.
I think we have the quality QB now, and at least one quality receiver in McLaurin (Sims might be the other guy), but the running game (o-line), and the TE are weak points.
But yeah, they likely draft a QB next year. Maybe not in the first round, but somewhere...
