They went to organizations that are stable, year in and year out.

If that were true, I would agree. However, look at the Gyants record over the last 12 years:
Code:
YEAR RECORD FINISH POSTSEASON
2004 6-10-0 T2nd -- NFC East --
2003 4-12-0 4th -- NFC East --
2002 10-6-0 2nd -- NFC East 0-1 - Lost Wild Card Playoffs
2001 7-9-0 T3rd -- NFC East --
2000 12-4-0 1st -- NFC East 2-1 - Lost Superbowl
1999 7-9-0 3rd -- NFC East --
1998 8-8-0 3rd -- NFC East --
1997 10-5-1 1st -- NFC East 0-1 - Lost Wild Card Playoffs
1996 6-10-0 5th -- NFC East --
1995 5-11-0 4th -- NFC East --
1994 9-7-0 2nd -- NFC East --
A couple more playoff appearances, but that doesn't look a whole lot different than our record. LOTS of losing seasons, and NO consistency (other than losing).
EDIT: It just occurred to me that maybe you meant that the organization was constant, as opposed to consistently winning. If so, does the consistency of a losing organization really matter?
