Re: Packers Pregame Thread (Hopkins cut)
After six games, GB is probably who we think they are. A pretty good (but beatable) 5-1 team.
That loss to the Saints was probably more of an anomaly than anything.
The Lions had the lead at halftime, then shit the bed in the 2nd half with two turnovers, and two failed 4th down conversions.
The 49ers had the lead with 37 seconds left, then shit the bed allowing the Packers to go 42 yards in 34 seconds to hit the game-winning 51 yard FG.
They seemingly handled the Steelers without much trouble.
They won in OT against the Bengals - both teams inexplicably missing FGs in OT, before GB hit the game-winning 49 yarder.
They beat da Bears without much trouble, although their defense did give up two 80 yard TD drives to Justin Fields.
Could be 4-2 or 3-3. Coulda, woulda, shoulda - their record is 5-1.

After six games, I am of the opinion that the WFT is not who we think they are.
I won't recap all of their games, my guess is that most on here have seen them. It's looked mostly bad with a bright spot sprinkled in here and there. They could easily be 0-6 right? But if you say that, then you also have to acknowledge that they could easily be 4-2. 4-point loss to the Chargers, and basically beat the Saints in almost every category except the one that counts - the scoreboard. Again, coulda, woulda, shoulda - their record is 2-4.
Anyway, I have forgotten all about the first six games because I like WFT to win this one on the road.
Overall, compared to my expectations starting the season, the offense has been a pleasant surprise; although not very impressive of late. This week I am expecting a big game from Heinicke - no turnovers, making plays on the run, and being aggressive. I am expecting a successful running game with McKissic/Gibson/Patterson - 175+ yards rushing combined. Lastly, McLaurin/Humphries are going to make enough big plays to keep the scoreboard on our side. I'm looking at 400+ total yards of offense this week.
The defense has been a huge disappointment to say the least. It was supposed to be the reason they would compete this year, but instead it's the reason they have lost four games so far. That being said, I don't expect it to continue. I see them getting it together this week against a beat up O-line. Chase has had two sacks in the last two games, the interior has been solid all year, and the secondary just cannot continue to look as bad as they have in the early going. I think they get to Rodgers early and often, and he has a game like he did in week 1. + 3 turnover ratio ought to do it.

GB has to turn around and play the undefeated Cardinals four days after this contest. No way they aren't looking forward at that matchup.
Every once in a while, what everybody knows should happen, doesn't. This is that game this week.
Footnote: If they pull it off, I'm calling it the start of a six game winning streak.
Gotta go - need another shot of tequila.
