Re: 2022 off season thread part 1

Isn't it possible that one of the QBs likely to go relatively early -- Ridder, Willis, Pickett, Howell and Corral -- ends up being a quality starter? It's a crapshoot and they all have strengths and weaknesses. No one thought Brady would become Brady when he was pick #199 a zillion years ago. We just need the crapshoot to go our way for a change.

I like Jimmy G, but we know what he is -- a solid player that doesn't necessarily elevate the players around him. Can you get to a SB with him? Sure. SF did so and nearly did it again. But does one of the 2022 draft class have the potential to be more than that? Sure. I'd rather go that route and save the draft capital elsewhere. If folks are talking about Jimmy G as a bridge QB to someone better down the line, how about a rookie as a bridge -- if it doesn't work out, you'll know soon enough and we'll be where we would have been with Jimmy G without giving up as much in the process.

The only vet I'd really like to see here is Wilson. A number of good years left, and seems like a solid teammate and decent guy. Watson -- who knows what his playing situation will be? Rodgers is a prima donna and he's 38. No thanks. Trubisky and Mariota? Please.
