Why are we stupid? Everyone knows the adage 'you can't believe everything that you read' and yet here we are believing something has credence because some guy on Twitter bought a blue check mark.

Put some weight in the source's credibility, for god's sake. If you don't know who is posting the information, then you should be assuming it's wrong until it's corroborated by somebody who you do know.

If you see Schefter, Rapoport, Jeremy Fowler, JP Finlay, John Keim, Ben Standig, or somebody like that confirming it then you can believe it. And if this unknown person on Twitter is right enough times and corroborated by other credible sources, then you can start lending some credence. Until then assume it's bullshit.
