wolfe is right if there is a three way tie in this situation it goes to a conference but if one team had lost to both teams they would be out or if one team beat the other two they would be in. After that it goes to tiebreaker by conference

That is why if the steelers tied with the jags and the chargers they would have been out even though they beat the chargers
