I've been going through it recently too, my dog of 14+ years passed very unexpected recently. Came home from work couple weeks ago, he was fine. Two hours later he was sick. Went to the ER at 8 pm. 1 AM they said they needed to get him stable to run more tests in the morning. Got home at 130 and they called us back and said he wouldn't make it to the morning. Something burst and he had sepsis.
We picked him up at 8 weeks old and had 14 years of great memories afterwards. Didn't even get half a day to say goodbye. It hurts man. But time goes on - I tell my friends all the time don't mourn me when I'm gone, celebrate all the good times we had together. The ride is the experience, not the destination. Keep your head up, it gets better. |
Always so tough to lose a dog. My coworker had to put his down on Tuesday.
I found my Lab’s leach recently which I had packed up when I had to put her down on earth day coming up on 2 years ago. I took it and hung it in my garage next to my tools…it still has year stinky lab smell which I miss so much.
