SD you are right there are no magic words but just acknowledging another person's pain and empathizing with them goes a really long way
Also we will all go through it, if you live you must face death, in the ones you love and your own

Love me some Jon Benjamin, thanks for sharing that mred. In the ideal scenario we all pass peacefully, asleep, pain free but in reality it rarely works out that way. Hope you're doing better now.
I still miss the unconditional love, coming home every day and his excitement when I walk through the door. It's something you can't get from your s/o half the time. But life has to go on. I had my time to mourn, I had a bunch of prints made which really help me to remember him from the countless good moments (and not focus on the terrible last day). Anyways like I said, hope you're doing better and I'm here if you ever need anything. Sometimes it feels good to vent. And everyone else - I appreciate the kind words guys.
Also RIP Carl Weathers. Like many others his scenes in Happy Gilmore were classic for me growing up. He always radiated kindness in whatever he was in.
