If Joe Gibbs has proven anything, it's this:
When he has a very good offensive line and outstanding running backs and wide receivers (and tight ends for that matter, since they are a Gibbs trademark) then all he needs is a GOOD quarterback to be successful, he doesn't require a Hall-of-Famer to get the team to the playoffs.
Brunell is no worse a quarterback than Mark Rypien. Sure, like everyone else, I was down on Brunell last year and I couldn't understand, for the life of me, why Gibbs stuck with him, but I don't question a Hall-of-Fame coach, he has his reasons. the Post's Tony Kornheiser has done a 180 on Brunell and I think that most of us have also. He's smart and capable and fits into this offensive scheme very well.
I feel sorry for Ramsey, though. I hope he gets a chance somewhere else if not here.
