REDSKINS TAILGATE INFO (last edited Wednesday)
re tailgating, the Seahawks website reports that stadium parking is sold out, but that there are other parking garages nearby, such as the baseball stadium parking, etc. From what I've read, tailgating is difficult around the Seahawks stadium. There are parking garages all around, and they don't allow BBQs and don't allow alcohol in public.
However, I've made contact with a regular tailgater of the Seahawks. He has a website here:

It's not that great a website, but nonetheless, they have a good tailgate spot, as you can see from his pics.
He has a map, not drawn to scale, too.
Here's what he wrote me:

Hey Mark/Hal/Brandon,good to hear from you!GO HAWKS!!!Yeah Mark/Hal/Brandon,look at my site and you`ll find a tab to our map.That is where you want to be!Spaces are available on a first come basis,~$30-$40,but well worth it.To get a decent spot you should get there no later than 9:00-9:30.Fires,stoves,fryers all good just don`t be a wild out of control fire king and keep it contained well.Alcohol OK just have cups and once again don`t be an idiot and the police are really cool.Keep your bottles,cans,etc out of site too.Look for the flags along the fence and that is us,diver down at the top,might be a picture on our site of them.Come say Hi or park by us we always love new tailgators.Lots o info on our site and in the old newsletters.I don`t have any more time to update the thing too often this year,too busy.Anything else?GO HAWKS!!! Hey guys,there really is no other place than this. The stadium lots are a joke and you can`t do anything. If you need more info let me know or call me game day and I`ll help you out,cell. should have on and be able to hear 206-786-<edit>.GO HAWKS!!!

Oh, I forgot to mention to him I am a Redskins fan - my bad.
I found some better maps and pics of the area. Please study the following maps and pics carefully - the tailgate area is to the north-west and then about 100 yards north of the intersection of S Royal Brougham Way and 1st Ave S, which is two blocks from the stadium. This intersection is just south-west of the stadium.
These five pics below include his map, a mapquest map, an aerial photo/map, another closer aerial photo, and a zoom-in aerial photo. Unless somebody has a better idea, I propose this area in the upper left hand corner of the last, 5th pic below for the Redskins tailgate spot (note the six port-a-johns along the fence in the last photo, a very important tailgate item).
<Wednesday edit begins here>
If you're flying in and renting a car, don't forget your Redskins car flags and magnets.
Please arrive early, about 9 AM or so, or even earlier. This is a cash lot, and will cost about $35 or $40 per car. This lot will be filled very, very quickly! We hope to have at least two 10 x 10 foot gazebo type canopies set up. If you are local and you have access to a canopy, PLEASE bring it. ALL REDSKINS FANS WELCOME, whether you are driving or are on foot. If you arrive late and have to park elsewhere, walk in to this lot. If you're coming on foot, you might consider carrying in a cheap styrofoam cooler with beverages. This lot is a block and a half west of the stadium and is very easy to find. From the southern most point of the stadium, just walk due west and shazaam, you're there. I am bringing my Redskins flags and a fairly tall flagpole and flagpole stand. We will be easy to spot. In the heart of Seahawks turf, Redskins fans are going to wear their colors and tailgate like it's 1999.
Sorry I tried to post the pictures but it only took the links instead. hope you guys have a great time in Seattle!
