Re: how this is true: ferguson to ramsey + draft picks

From PackerChatters.com:

"Robert Ferguson, only 25, is already being written off as a lost cause by many Packer faithful. His inability to stay healthy combined with his disturbing reluctance to fight for the ball has people flat out saying that we should part company with Ferguson. He is scheduled to make a base salary of $2.1 million, and has $2.8 million in pro-rated signing bonus still due to him, so the Packers could cut him, eat the signing bonus, but save the salary so it creates a wash.....we neither gain nor lose any salary cap advantage by cutting or keeping him.

Many people never forgave Robert Ferguson for being selected instead of former Badger Chris Chambers, who has been a much better pro. Others see Ferguson as an example of Mike Sherman's incompetence as a GM. But regardless of their agenda, the facts remain that in four years Robert Ferguson has not demonstrated an ability to be anything other than a #3 or #4 wide receiver and special teams guy. If Ferguson does not stay healthy through training camp, I'd say it's unlikely he'll make the team this year, and I'd be surprised if the Packers weren't looking for a way to trade him before then."

They did say that the Packers would give up A draft choice with Fergy (per the rumor) so we can't rule out the possibility of the Skins looking to move up in the 2nd round, although now I think I am engaged in wishful thinking.
