The home team (who has experience preaparing for a short week) doesn't have to travel, and can use the extra day to instill a game plan. The visitor plays on Sunday, rests on Monday, and travels on Wednesday. That's one day of practical study and practice.
Fortunately, we have a coach for every starter (and two for the backups), so everyone should know their roles by kickoff.

That is the only reason i hate dallas getting thanksgiving every year. It is an actual disadvantage to the NFC east. They get the thanks giving game which they have a clear advantage over the opponent and then they get 10 days for the next game giving them another advantage over their next opponent. They have an advantage in 2 games every year that we don't. THat is why they should spread it around every year.
