We have 2nd and 3rd round picks where we could get a productive WR. and if Ramsey is traded, we will get either a draft pick or a player(DE,WR) The money we have should be used to sign quality backup depth at the oline and dline. I think Al Saunders is going to open up our game where our current receivers will be bigger contributers than this past year. Patten has been a productive receiver his entire career, and everyone turns their back on the guy after one year (remember Brunell?). Maybe we do sign a FA WR, but not a top guy, maybe a veteran who is a Gibbs guy. Cooley is going to be a HUGE factor in this offense next year. and KC never really had top notch WR past the #1 spot. Everyone wants us to go out and get Wayne, randel el, robinson, all these top receivers which I just don think would be wise. We have other needs that just a receiver. I know the receiver is a VERY BIG need, but we could address that in the draft or a mid level FA.
robinson's year wasn't that big and he still has a lot of questions, so he will be cheap. He said he wants to be here, he has friends on the team here who are top character guys and he's had a kid, so I think its worth the risk of the contract. He's not going to get #1 money though and may nto even get #2 money.
