I'm not sure if this was discussed but I don't see what the big deal is with expanding the playoffs from 12 teams to 14 teams is. When the league expanded the playoff teams from 10 to 12 in 1990 there were 28 NFL teams and the percentage of NFL teams that went to the playoffs at the time was ~42.9%. Right now there are 32 teams and only 37.5% of the teams go to the playoffs. If the playoffs was expanded to 14 teams then ~43.8% of the teams would be going to the playoffs.

I guess the only gotcha would be that only 1 team would get a bye week in the playoffs in each conference but is that enough?
