Carson made 9 Pro Bowls, Monk made 3.

Carson played MLB, which is a much less statistically quantifiable position. Carson's selections (which I don't dispute - nor do I dispute his election to the Hall) were as much a reflection of the excellent Belichick coached defenses he played in as his own play.
Monk, who played in run-first offenses, still put up (at the time) unparalleled stats, and blocked in the running game as well as any receiver of the time.
