You may be reading too much into this... I don't see King bashing Gibbs in this article... he says that he believes that Gibbs will win the Superbowl during the second reign. He's talking about immediate impact.
I don't think King thinks that Gibbs won't have an impact next year... just that Coughlin will have a bigger one. Face it, Fassel lost his team last year...the Gints definitely needed a spanking and Coughlin carries a well-worn strap. I think they probably had better all-around talent... heck they had just been in the Superbowl.
I'm not so sure that the overall improved talent level on the Redskins will have more of an impact than Gibbs' coaching. We may actually have the personnel to have a top 5 running game this year. We have more experience at QB. Granted we made the roster changes to fit JG's plan.
By the way... they were both probably assigned to write different sides of the same story... the subject matter may not have been King's choice.
