I don't mean to speak for Joe, but I spoke to him personally, and he really, really, really wanted to go. But, along with all the great things that Joe Gibbs' return will bring, there is also the negative. He just aint too keen on the media, and the general public, for that matter, causing all sorts of distractions during team activities. I agree with that decision, but it certainly doesn't help us info greeding fans through the football summer drought.
Joe said that his 90 plus minute trip each way would have resulted in about 15 minutes of time with the players. Not much of a payoff.
Then again, people were flying in to Washington from all over the country and standing in line for 6 hours just to pay a few moments' respect to a dead president.
Hmmmm.
