This is exactly why I have said that the Redskins are in actually pretty good position as opposed to the many who have said that we would be in trouble. Look they will renegotiate the bonuses for 4 years to extend the cap number. Cut the players who are due big money and who are not a vital cog in the wheel.

How does all of this affect the 2006 NFL draft?
Signing draft choices will be more difficult this year, because teams can prorate signing bonuses over only four seasons. Already, agents figure the most a top draft choice can make under that scenario is $15 million, a major reduction from recent years. That likely will lead to long holdouts by draft choices.
Since we have positioned ourselves with few draft choices we are at an advantage as compared to others. Also in the uncapped year who else is going to out spend the Dan.
