Also, I feel the need to give some kudos to Snyder on his salesmanship. He has developed the reputation around the league as a guy that is willing to shell out big bucks. That may have cost us when he was going after Deion and Mark Carrier, but it's paying dividends now. Now, whenever a free agent hears that the Redskins are interested in him, this is the first place he wants to visit. And then once he visits, Snyder rarely lets him get away. Snyder has developed that reputation and he's using it to his benefit rather than letting the media's criticism get to him.
It's a pretty great thing, when you think about it. Imagine you're a free agent, and your agent says hey there are four teams interested in you: the Bears, the 49ers, the Colts, and the Redskins. What do you want to do?
Um agent, we're going to Washington first.
