Television revenue grew from $4.7 million in 1989 to $3.7 billion a year. The values of franchises have grown tenfold, with Forbes magazine valuing three teams over $1 billion. The average player salary has jumped from $317,000 in 1989 to a projected $1.9 million under the new collective bargaining agreement. The league has grown from 28 teams to 32, with the league restructuring to eight divisions. In his 17 seasons as commissioner, there have been 11 different teams to win a Super Bowl.
