what does he know about football and how long has he studied the cba and the current stadium/labor/owner situations?
If there's someone who's actually been working inside and knows the players (owners, local govermental concerns of each fiefdom, understands the current cba and revenue streams etc) i'd prefer them over someone so outside the loop.
If someone wants to bring up the tags was an outsider arguement, he wasn't. he worked as a lawyer for the league for quite a while, and when he took over the league wasn't worth billions and the pressure wasn't nearly as great. its a much higher profile job then it was all those years ago.
