Yeah it's stuff like this that makes my blood boil. He calls his column "Snap Judgments", which is exactly what they are. A bunch of assertions in which some national writer simply jumps to conclusions.
National media in general just bother me. They act like they know everything, yet they cover such a broad scope of material that they don't have the time to actually be knowledgable about any one subject. Banks clearly doesn't understand how the basics of the salary cap work, he clearly doesn't understand the Redskins' books, and yet he writes a column passing judgment and acting like he knows what he's talking about. It's absurd.
Local articles, like this Times article that Matty mentioned, are the best way to get your NFL news. Those reporters actually have time to know their team, since that team is all they cover.
