Re: USC Pro Day Results and Notes:
NFL | L. White feeling hamstrung

Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports USC RB LenDale White (hamstring) has heard the murmurs about what NFL scouts thought of his work ethic and he was out to change the perception at his Pro Day Sunday, April 2. However, a nagging hamstring injury put his plans on hold. White's uncle, Herman White, said LenDale tweaked his hamstring during a bench-press drill and was unable to continue the workout. "LenDale is devastated," Herman White said. "He was out to show what a worker he is and how well he can do all these things people questioned about him. But he had to scratch. He knows there's a perception out there. Hopefully, this doesn't continue it." White will now hold a private workout the weekend before the NFL Draft, his uncle said. Some NFL scouts believe White's weight and spring inactivity could drop him in the April 29-30 NFL Draft.
NFL | L. White draws mixed reviews

Billy Witz, of the Los Angeles Daily News, reports USC RB LenDale White left some scouts with mixed impressions after his Pro Day Sunday, April 2. As noted earlier, a sore hamstring prevented White from running the 40-yard dash and all he did was the bench press. He did raise some red flags by looking out of shape. White weighed in at 244 pounds. White said he was disappointed he couldn't run or participate in receiving drills, and said he played between 235 and 240 this season. "I don't know how GMs view me," White said. "But if they know football, they know I can play football. Hopefully, I'll prove anyone who has doubts about me wrong." "I'm disappointed to see him not compete," said Tony Softli, the Carolina Panthers' director of college scouting. "I'd like to see him healthy and in his best shape, but then you've got to look at his DNA - his film. That tells you best." Another scout was more critical: "We all know he's a game-day player, but his attitude was nonchalant. He's got this sense of entitlement - he just doesn't get it."
NFL | L. White being compared to Clarett
Mon, 3 Apr 2006 18:35:14 -0700
Jason Cole, writing for NBCSports.com, reports USC RB LenDale White is being mentioned in the same company as free agent RB Maurice Clarett. An NFL exeutive said, "We had one of our scouts go up and ask him what was going on (after White didn't run). The kid said his hamstring was tight or something like that. Then we tried to find out when he was going to run and he didn't know. It didn't even sound like he was going to run. What does this kid think?" A former USC offensive player who once was a teammate of White's said, "The guy can play, but he just gets by. He coasted in practice and he coasted in the offseason. He came in thinking he just had to put in his time and that's what you see now." The teammate added that the things White was able to do was because he played next to RB Reggie Bush and the other guys around him. He added that White would be amazing if he really worked at it.
NFL | L. White trying to keep covered
Mon, 3 Apr 2006 18:34:44 -0700
Jason Cole, writing for NBCSports.com, reports USC RB LenDale White wore a loose-fitting warm-up suit during his Pro Day in an effort to not show much of his body. He drew audible groans from NFL scouts at the NFL Combine when he showed his chest. After seeing White at the NFL Combine, one NFL general manager said, "The guy needed a bra, it was ridiculous. You come to the combine looking like that and you want to be a first-round pick? Come on. The guy had obviously been doing nothing."

Jason Cole, writing for NBCSports.com, reports USC RB LenDale White had dinner with the Denver Broncos Saturday, April 2.
Now that's pretty damning. Looks like he's in a free fall and, of course, denver will be there to pick him up.
