It depends on how you look at it. Maybe he knows there's no way he will get convicted. I'm not really sure, but I think it's a stand that shows maybe he was taught not to admit to something you didn't do.
I'm not sure exactly why he wouldn't, but if he doesn't want to admit to having committed a felony, I respect him for that. I just hope it works out.
