Not that I've ever been arrested, or know exactly how these things work, but I believe that houses, boats, cars, etc, can be used as collateral on a bond, plus I believe you only have to post 10% of the bond...or in this case $40k. It's not cash just yet...unless one of the kids fails to appear or jumps bond. Then the cash would have to be posted...all 400k.
