You guys are right. The 49ers shouldn't take Davis. Remember last year when Eric Johnson went to the Pro Bowl and just dominated the league. Oh wait that didn't happen.

Johnson is good but Davis is going to be something special. Alex Smith needs a TE like Davis, look what Gates did for Brees. Plus with Davis in the fold the 9ers could trade Johnson for another need or just be the most effective team ever at running doulble tight sets. If the 49ers stay put at #6 they'd be stupid to pass up on Davis. The only pick that I will use to justify them passing him at that point is AJ Hawk.

BTW: Davis isn't just gonna play TE. A 4.38 40 time is going to give you some playing time at split end.
