Re: Motorcycles Riders?
Saden,
Not a big board poster, but I've been a long time lurker and longer time skin's fan. I've been riding for 10 years or so and do about 10k a year on my current bike ('05 DL1000 V-strom). I even tailgated FedEx on my bike twice during the preseason last year. (Makes getting out of the lot a much easier experience)
That new 650R is a real nice ride, my buddy trading in his CBR F4i for one. In all seriousness, it's not a "learner" bike though. If you are a noob to motorcycling, do yourself a favor
1) Take your local state sponsored BRC (Beginner Riders Course)
2) Buy a good helmet and "real" gear. It ain't cool or cheap but it's cooler and cheaper than skin grafts or funeral expenses.
3) Buy the cheapest P.O.S. 250-400cc bike you can find and ride it for at least 6 months before you consider a new bike. You will drop it early and often...better that than a new bike with lots of expensive plastic.
4) Buy a new ride and paint it burgundy and gold with the license plate SB XLI!
Later,
Mc2guy
